Membership

Privileges as Members

  • Voting Privileges: Only members of Novaliches Christian Fellowship have the right to vote in all matters, in all business Meetings of the church.
  • Access Privileges: Members of Novaliches Christian Fellowship have the right to go through and check all records of the church.
  • Financial Privileges: All members of Novaliches Christian Fellowship have the right to request assistance on pressing financial matters specially those issues concerning life and death.
  • Pastoral Services Privileges: All the services of the church are rendered free to all members.
  • Counseling Privileges: All members may call the church office anytime in moments of need and someone will always be there to assist in their times of need.
  • Certification and Referral Privileges: The church and the staff cannot issue a church recommendation, referral or certification of a person who is not a member of the church. This privilege is given only to members.
  • Spiritual Assistance Privileges: Novaliches Christian Fellowship is like a big family. Members are considered brethren and to a certain degree their relationship are closer than blood relationship with actual kinsfolk.

Duties as a Member of the Novaliches Christian Fellowship

As a member of Novaliches Christian Fellowship:

  1. You are expected to live an exemplary Christian life at home and at work. In becoming a member of this NCF you are connecting yourself to a life pleasing to God. Avoid the use of obscene language, drunkenness, gambling and all vices detrimental to your health and to your testimony for the Lord Jesus Christ.
  2. You commit yourself to family worship. You are being asked to gather your children once a day, three times a week, twice a week or whatever is convenient for you to pray with them, read the Bible with them and instill in them fear and love of the Lord.
  3. You hereby commit yourself to be loyal to the doctrinal position of this church and further commit to separate from spiritual fellowship with those upholding doctrines contrary to our position.
  4. You are expected to be loyal to its leadership. If there’s anything that you don’t like in any of the things going on or said in the church or in any of the services, you are hereby not to gossip or to criticize, but rather go to the person concerned and follow the procedure stipulated by the Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 18: 15-19.
  5. You expected to support the church with your tithes and offerings as provided for in Malachi 3:10.
  6. You are expected to be a soul winner. Be a witness for Christ wherever you are and try to invite somebody to attend the church services. You are God’s missionary.
  7. You are expected to be present in and on time for its services unless you are sick, at work, or providentially hindered.
  8. You are expected to be involved in its activities within the context of your physical capability. Areas of services such as visitation, choir, Sunday school teaching, counseling and others are all open to you as avenues of service to the Lord.
  9. You are encouraged to memorize Bible verses.
  10. You are requested to pray for the Pastors, members and all the services of the church.

Church Membership

Now let us note two things regarding this membership:

  1. Church Order in Receiving Members
    1. Pre-requisites for membership.
      1. Salvation
      2. Public declaration of faith
      3. Christian testimony
      4. Doctrinal agreement: those who would like to be a member of our fellowship must agree with our doctrinal position.
    2. Procedures for membership.
      1. Baptism (Acts 2:41; 1 Corinthians 13:13)
      2. Letter: This is a formal statement from another Bible-practicing church that the candidate for membership NCF has met the pre-requisites for membership in that church and therefore, recommends him/her for transfer of membership.
  2. Church Order in Removing Members
    1. By Letter: When members move to another area and is united with another church, a letter of recommendation from our church maybe provided stating that the person is a member with good moral character.
    2. By death.
    3. By expulsion.
    4. Members are removed from membership when they join another church.
    5. Members are removed after 6 months of continued inactivity without sufficient cause and after effort are made to restore them to fellowship.
    6. Members are removed for disciplinary reasons when they reject efforts to restore them and persist in living in a way that brings reproach to the Lord and His church.
