What is the Music Department all about?
The Music Department is by far the biggest department under the umbrella of the NCF organization. Its inception is as old as the Church, educating every attendee the value of praise and worship. Special productions began in 1995 that the need for a more professional sound quality became imminent.
What are the objectives of the Department?
- To consistently lead the people of God in offering praise and worship He so deserves.
- To be able to use music as a tool whereby God can speak to believers.
- To creatively preach to the lost with the expressed purpose of winning them to the Lord.
What do you do in the Department?
- Praise and Worship. A song line-up is prepared, screened, prayed for and arranged (if not prearranged) by the worship leader and the band leader. Songs can be psalms, hymns and spiritual songs (Col. 3:16; Eph. 5:19). Lyrics are to be screened for Biblical accuracy. Services may open with a fellowship song, a call to worship, or any appropriate activity. Worship leaders are given as much liberty and authority in the execution of the revealed line-up as his creativity on a particular line-up may require. The team practices once weekly, except on special events where additional rehearsals will be called for by the Music Director.
What do you require to be a member in this Department?
- Saved, baptized by immersion and actively worshipping the Lord as NCF member for at least one
year. - Be educated and firmly-rooted in the basic and minor doctrines of the Scripture.
- Proficient to a certain degree at the skill required for the ministry he/she aspires to get into.
- Humble, teachable, submissive to and cooperative with the church leadership.
- Exhibiting maturity in his/her Christian walk, most especially in inter-personal relationships.
- Visionary, one whose goals in Christian service are consistent with the Scriptures and the mandate
of the church, and characterized by eagerness in the pursuit of more skill. - Punctuality at rehearsals and performances is of utmost importance. We define punctuality as
respect for other people’s time!
